Who are we?
We are parents & community members who support all the music programs throughout the Spring-Ford Area School District.
What we do?
We provide organizational, in-person, logistical, and operating support for all our music programs. This includes fundraising, food prep, moving, prop assembly, chaperoning, planning, and other such tasks and commitments.
Why we do what we do!
Because our student musicians deserve the extra support & good spirit from the community! We lead the charge in making sure they have everything we can possibly provide. We believe it is imperative to endure the multi-decade support our music programs have received, and we believe it is paramount to keep our music programs healthy, prominent, and invigorating.
Specific examples of our efforts:
Funding for clinicians and guest conductors to work with the students
Funding to maintain the indoor Color Guard and Indoor Percussion units
Organizing chaperones for trips and competitions
Renting, maintaining, and driving vehicles required to move student equipment
Providing services and support to the directors for planning and coordinating trip activities
Providing financial assistance to qualifying students in need for trips

SFMA Leadership
The SFMA is led by an elected board, whose members serve a two-year term.

Elections held annually by SFMA members. The president, secretary, and assistant treasurer are elected in odd years, and the vice president and treasurer are elected in even years.
Meetings
SFMA meetings are held monthly on the 2nd Tuesday of every month (except July). Meetings are currently "virtual" via Zoom.
